Max–or Serafín–as his is affectionately called by his friends and family is a 5th generation producer from San Dionisio Ocotepec, Oaxaca. He is one of the most gentle souls you could hope to meet, and his mezcals reflect his light touch with life…. they are potent expressions with soft edges, expertly crafted. Like all true masters of the craft, Serafín is meticulous in his work habits. And it shows in his mezcals.
Manuel is Max’s son. After working for a while as a line cook in the US, Manuel returned home to work with his father in the family mezcal business. He is married with two girls, Areli and Rocio. And indispensable part of the process, he is involved in every expression that come out of the family palenque.
